About ISSC

What is ISSC?

  • ISSC is an annual conference organized by students of Medical University of Gdansk for the international academic community.

  • Our aim is to create a space for young scientists to share their work and present findings in front of an international audience and learn from world-renowned professionals.

  • We invite students of medicine and medical sciences as well as young doctors to participate passively and actively during workshops, student sessions and keynote lectures.

For whom is this conference dedicated?

  • Scientific sessions are intended for undergraduate students, graduate students and young scientists.

By whom is this conference organized?

  • The Conference is organized by the 28th ISSC Organizing Committee, which is appointed by the Board of Student Scientific Society of Medical University of Gdańsk.

Where and when will the conference take place? 

  • The International Student Scientific Conference will take place at Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny / Medical University of Gdansk and will be held from 13-15th of April, 2023. 

What format does the conference take? 

  • We hope to see more participants and have more interactive learning experiences at the conference this year.

  • Therefore, all participants who are currently residing within Poland are expected to join us
    in-person for the conference.

  • For participants from anywhere outside of Poland, an option to participate online is available. 

What do the different sections do and what are they responsible for?

  • Logistics Department: logistic coordination and organization of the event: venues booking,  communicating and being in contact with experts/special guests/professors, events’ material organization, booking halls and website maintenance.
     

  • Public Relations and Outreach Department: running social media, partnerships, event broadcast and communication between an organization and the participants.
     

  • Finance and Fundraising Department: all financial aspects related to the organization of the conference.
     

  • Scientific Programme and Sessions Department: abstract selection, organization of the scientific session and jury, organizing the participant's presentations, moderating sessions.
     

  • Workshops Department: organizing workshops and taking care of their technical facilities, being in contact with workshop leaders.
     

  • Secretary Team: administration of the organization; keeping minutes, documents and reports.
